Russell Wilson the former star quarterback and super bowl winning quarterback is now a member of the Denver Broncos via trade. Russell Wilson joins what is arguably the most QB-talented division in football joining the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Derek Carr, Justin Herbert, and now Wilson with the Broncos.

Russell Wilson was traded almost immediately after we saw Aaron Rodgers announce his plans to stay in Green Bay with the Packers. The Broncos went out and gave up a TON to get Russel Wilson. We see the Broncos following the path many teams have done over recent years, realizing they have a talented team but are an 'Elite' quarterback away from being a Super Bowl contender. The Broncos are following in the footsteps of the Rams and Buccaneers. The Broncos gave up a lot of assets and draft capital in this move and only time can tell if it would be worth it. The Broncos gave up QB Drew Lock (a young QB with a massive ceiling if he can be developed more), DL Shelby Harris, TE Noah Fant (a low tier starting TE or elite TE2), Two First Round Picks, Two-Second Round Picks, and a Fifth Round Pick. All these pieces for Russell Wilson and a Fourth Rounder is all worth it if the Broncos can win a Super Bowl.

At this moment, I think the Broncos made the correct move. I am all for teams selling out to win the Super Bowl. You have no clue how some of the draft picks they have will pan out, but they are getting a known superstar and a top 10 quarterback who can get them over the hump. Wilson could be their answer, the Broncos could go on a run with the team they have in place. The Broncos had a top-3 defense and could potentially be bringing Von Miller back into the fold. The floor for this year’s coming Broncos squad is a Wild Card round exit and the ceiling is the Super Bowl. Russell Wilson will be walking into what was the 23rd ranked offense in the league this past season with QB play from Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater who are nowhere near as successful as Wilson.

The Denver Broncos gave up a lot of assets to make this one of the largest trades in NFL history, only time will tell if this was successful trade for the Denver Broncos. I think this trade makes them the third or second-best team in their division which would lead them to the playoffs. Once you get to the playoffs anything can happen, especially when you have a star quarterback like Russell Wilson. This is a terrific move by the Broncos, time could show it to be terrible. but at this moment I think this was a terrific move by the Denver Broncos front office.
