2022 NFL Mock Draft 4.14 1.0
Updated: Apr 18, 2022

The NFL Draft is a day where all NFL fans have hope. A new beginning, a new franchise cornerstone, the next big thing, the savior, the face of the franchise.
The NFL Draft season is a great season that most NFL fans look forward to because they are going to get the next great player for their team. The worst teams in the NFL are getting the player who will turn the franchise around. The others are maybe getting that missing piece or two that will allow them to compete for the Super Bowl.
Everyone is an insider in the sports media world and here is my mock draft.
Tyler Smith's Top 10 Mock Draft 1.0
1) Jacksonville Jaguars: Travon Walker
The Jacksonville Jaguars can go two ways here, Aidan Hutchinson or Thibodeaux. One man has been on a meteoric rise over the last few weeks Travon Walker out of Georgia. Walker is an athletic freak who had subpar production in college, graded out at 71.2 by PFF(Pro Football Focus). Whereas Hutchinson and Thibodeaux were graded at 94.5 and 83.2 respectively. The smart pick here is Hutchinson, but based on Jaguars GM Trent Baalke's history they draft Travon Walker as he is in love with freak athletes who can be developed.
2) Detroit Lions: Aidan Hutchinson
They get the best player in the draft in my opinion, ranked at 94.5 by PFF. As well one of the most dominant if not the most dominant player in college football last year. He has the lowest floor, and fit's with Motor City Dan Campbell(MCDC).
3) Houston Texans: Kayvan Thibodeaux
The Texans need every position out there, they take the best available and get one of the next best generational edge rushers in this draft. Bolsters the defense that still has holes all over, but fills the void for the next several years.
4) New York Jets: Sauce Gardner
One of the most elite DB's that the college game has seen in a long, long time. 87.1 ranking by PFF and NEVER ALLOWED A COLLEGE TD… WOW… Bolsters the subpar Jets defense and secondary.
5) New York Giants: Ikem Ekwonu
The first tackle and lineman are off the board and going to the Giants. I think he goes to the Giants over Evan Neal, because of his flexibility on the line. Whereas Neal is a sure-fire Tackle. Would not be shocked if this pick gets moved come draft night, so another franchise could take the first QB off the board before the Panthers get their choice.
6) Carolina Panthers: Kenny Pickett
Matt Rhule gets a QB he can finally put his name on and helps out that he recruited him way back when at Temple. The Panthers are very happy to get their number one player on their big board, especially seeing how likely the pick at 5 could be moved to someone else drafting QB.
7) New York Giants (from Chicago Bears): Kyle Hamilton
Honestly one of my favorite prospects in the Draft. Didn't have the best post-collegiate season with the combine drills, etc. I think he could be the best player in the draft behind Aiden Hutchinson or maybe overcome him. The Giants get a steal at 7.
8) Atlanta Falcons: Jermaine Johnson II
The Falcons are in ‘best player available’ mode, they have Marcus Mariota at the helm to guide them this season. Which could mean QB next year in the first round. Johnson is a great pick and if the name sounds familiar, he was ACC DPOY and a star in the Netflix series Last Chance U. Don't be shocked if the Falcons try and get Desmond Ridder at 8 if it's not Johnson II.
9) Seattle Seahawks (from Denver Broncos) Evan Neal
The Seahawks are in a major rebuild mode, they need somebody to keep whoever is under center next year. The Seahawks go out and get one of the most sure-fire elite linemen in this draft.
10) New York Jets (from Seattle Seahawks): Jameson Williams
Coming off a great season at Alabama and a torn ACL this could be a shock to most. Jameson will feature as WR1 once he is fully healthy. This is a move to get Zach Wilson more weapons, as well to be one day an elite QB and WR pairing. The Jets front office is looking to find the success they haven't had since Mark Sanchez and Rex Ryan. This could be a move that puts them in the right direction.
